War of the Heart

for old times sake..

    Sitting in the dark

writing by moonlight

all is quiet

on the home front.

The general is sleeping

and the chaplain is weeping

quietly.  Don't make a sound.

Snipers are waiting

point men are praying

hiding their love

in the ground.

Sitting in the dark

and starlight

and love's fight

wages in mortal men's hearts.

i reall like this poem alot, the imagry you use in it is brillent mixed with the rough life of a solider at war. to take something beautiful out of a moment of possible horror is a rare thing and im glad you were able to. your flow here is very good, it gives the illusion of almost a whisper, as to be very quiet to not give away our position. if i could make some suggestions however take out the forth line and 7th to last line. both of these to me seem a little out of place and dont really fit whats happening around them. all and all though its a very good peice
