Remember Stars?

Remember Stars?

A Poem by Analgesia

I don’t remember what stars look like

Are they fashioned of bulbs and filaments?

Do they glow like lime

Lighting a man

holding a skull?

In seas of wheat in seas of cold storm water

You can see them

Go.

Go find them and tell me

Do they still shine?

Dear Nathaniel,

I still remember you from your amazingly perceptive review of my poem "Epic". This is wonderful work, my friend. How one gets caught up in the day-to-day. We can forget such basic things: "Are they fashioned of bulbs and filaments?" Marvelous writing. "Go find them and tell me / Do they still shine?"

Nice work, my friend. Very high marks.

Best regards,

Rick

So sad, but sweet too. I'd certainly love to look up at night and see a sky full of stars. I love the second line. It tells you so much about the world we live in today.
Nice job.

Punctuation: all-or-nothing.
I would lose the second 'Go'.

I really like this. I suppose to take this literally, for city dwellers, the stars are effectively an imagining - because they are hidden behind smog, pollution-harmed sky and the city lights.

But reagrdless of what one may read into this - I do really like it. love the images and the questions. Great work
