Kisses Linger

Kisses Linger

A Poem by AleyshaRosa

kisses that travel

sand through gravel

balm on scars

slipping through white bars

fingers that sink

into glistening pink

words of fire

clarity through mire

the push of passion

the pull of regret

a single ration

of a night to forget

i listen to your words

dismissing how obscure

your panting promises

and their perfect compromises

i feel your warmth

the deep of your depth

i feel your kiss linger

your casual lips mingle

the push of passion

the pull of regret

a single ration

of a night to forget

your burning heat

a scrumptious treat

i kiss your tired lips

grateful for the tip

i hear you call me

not a plea

but a hopeful plan

to meet once again

A tender kiss is a significant sign that love first starts with this initial physical action. Who wouldn't wanting another kiss from a good kisser. Great job. I liked this poem very much. :)

Aha, no one I hope!
Poignant write, romance without the romance. Lovely flow.

I like this. Talk about real writing, and describing things as how they are. There is just enough romance here to make the reader want to forget your repeated stanza.

"the push of passion
the pull of regret
a single ration
of a night to forget"

Well done.

I thought so. And indeed- the irony there, yet not lost on the author, or me!
