And Smile.A Poem by AleyshaRosaWhen the rain falls on my pain and these bruises call truces with the scars on my arms
i realize this disguise is more than false that my pulse is pumping in the wrong direction
that my skin is more than sin it is life in the form of a knife glinting silver between quivering fingers
but your strong arms and soft palms hold me touch me intoxicate me with life
and your chest where i rest my warm cheek feeling you speak is where i feel at home
i drown i fall down but i'm not alone sticks and stones may break my bones but his eyes will never cut deeper than this knife has and his hands will never burner blacker than my own demons
i will stand and take your hand i'll tip my chin and make my mission to succeed to live to smile. © 2012 AleyshaRosaReviews
