WildA Poem by AleyA captured moment poem about an imagined place.A
howl rose from the red wolf's throat, The
stillness answered only with crickets. The
call of an owl as it beckoned another home. A
fox ran through the thicket of the forest, Its
partner close by, The
gentle swishing of grass, The
pad of their feet upon the soft earth. An
owl answered the calls of it's mate, A
delicate hoot and flutter, Settling
in within the trees, Ruffling
their feathers one last time, Snuggling
in close to the one they had chosen. A
fog plagued the night's air as it draped over the land, A
blanket of darkness, Cool
sensations filled with comfort for many. The
warm breeze that once gave hope now vacant from the air, Hindered
by the fog, were the creatures who chose to roam. No
answer came to the howl of the wolf as the fog lay upon the valley. Even
the rebellious crickets had given way to the fog so warm. Its meek amber eyes watching over the forest through the fog. The
wolf paced silently along the foggy field dodging trees and shrubs. The fox lay sleeping curled with it's only. The fog of night had swept the land and so it would be held. © 2015 AleyAuthor's Note
