Set Sail

Set Sail

A Poem by Alexx Wake

I want to set sail- tonight.
Depart Past.
Everything we hoped would last-
We now cast-
Into the waves of tomorrow;
Rip currents, "You shouldn't follow!"
Been weary of yesterday; still soaking she needs a towel.
Dry her off gently.
Give her some warmth; plenty.
And if she's back tomorrow I'll offer to take her with me.
Far away. Out to sea.
He and she; Past beneath- No rise. No reef.
Thoughts of- but a dream; Reality unredeemed.

Awake?
