Ice.

Ice.

A Poem by johnnyqueer

I'd like to think of myself as a diamond,
But I'm quickly finding I am only ice.
I'm trying to make sense of it all,
The disasters that created me.
I'm falling beneath all the cool shades,
Drowning in my attempts to breathe.

I'm shivering despite the sun beams,
Loneliness can be hard to endure.
Is this empty feeling worth it?
I planned to feel fulfilled,
But only found myself lost.
Will anyone ever find me?

I'm melting beneath my aspirations,
Longing for the life I used to have.
I understand that I can never go back,
But wishing never hurt anyone...
Wait, I lied... Wishing is murderous.
I still sleep alone at night.

this poem shows despair. it shows that we should not fixate on the past but go on with our lives. loneliness is the hardest thing to deal with. very insightful poem.
