Echo: I am growing.

Echo: I am growing.

A Poem by johnnyqueer

I can't seem to hide the disgust,
It surfaces even through my smile.
I'm not afraid to speak my mind,
But I fear all else would be afraid.
This crossroad is now inevitable,
I guess I could crash and burn.

I could imagine it would be serene,
To flutter up skyward as ashes.
No intrusions to dilute the truth,
All would sink into fresh silence.
I would bask in my new found glory,
With nothing at all left to say.

My reflection and presence remain,
So I suppose somehow I'm still here.
Speaking more honest and fluid,
My voice can never be ignored.
Someday if I do crash and burn,
I know I'll leave behind an echo.

Sad and beautiful.

I feel like evaporating sometimes, too.

But, again, you balance that darkness with a voice of freedom and 'fight back' and 'f**k all'. That's the stuff that gets you to the other side of the tunnel. This says a lot about life....and living through our own daily battles. And, yes, the echo that resounds long after we've laid it all down.

Good stuff man.
