Beautiful.

Beautiful.

A Poem by johnnyqueer

Just as damaged as I am, more beautiful than he was.
A smile that lights up the room, re-lights my heart.
I melt beneath my thoughts of you, dreams of you.
Invaded, you captured my fascination. Held it tight.
I can show you a world so different, undiluted.
Just as damaged as I am, more beautiful than he was.
You extract my colors, more vibrant when you speak.
Breathe heavy, dissolve into what could be perfection.
Disrobe your doubt upon branches, along with anxiety.
Close your eyes and exhale your memories, give them to me.
Just as damaged as I am, more beautiful than he was.
Follow me closely, this is also new to me.
I am ready for fire again, I've grown so tired of ice.
Place your hand in mine, we will search for peace.
Rest your head upon my chest, drift off into bliss.
Just as damaged as I am,  more beautiful than everything.

I read this and my heart stopped a few times. This writing is, for lack of a better term, BEAUTIFUL. The title says it all. "Disrobe your doubt upon branches, along with anxiety." That one line was absolutely sublime--there's no other word for it. Ya know, normally I have a hard time reviewing things having to do with love/warmth/relationships/erotica/romance or anything of tenderness [I'm not any good in that department, on paper as well as life--read my work and you'll understand] but with your writing here, somehow, I can make a rare exception. You are one of the few that can write emotion and love that I enjoy reading. "Rest your head upon my chest, drift off into bliss"--I pray we all have such a dream come true! :)
