Focus.A Poem by johnnyqueerA weekend of my life.
I need to focus on city lights, and gorgeous boys,
and imperfect life. I need to feel pulsations of bliss, heavy kissing, on secret lips. Great aspirations take a break, breathe in deep and drown. I need to focus on the flashing lights, and strong drinks, and forgetting life. I need to feel the inviting tingle of drunken forgetfulness, smile and adore the music. Dance until standing is impossible. I need to focus on busy street lights, wait for red, and cross the street. I need to hold the wall and find the car. Climb inside and close my eyes. Open the window and release. I need to focus, morning lights too bright. I need to close the blinds, and struggle to remember exactly what I did last night.
