Break up: The destruction manifests.

Break up: The destruction manifests.

A Poem by johnnyqueer
"

Written for a lover, need I say more. I fear we have all been here before. The emotions caving in, losing control to rage.

"
Turn away, as you did before... This time
more dramatic, swifter in your attempts
to make me crumble. Moisture collecting
in your eyes, almost as if to mock mine.

Don't touch me... Direct your stare to
some other object. You speak with
a vengeance, it makes me shiver.
Switch the roles, you're the victim?

Run away, as you did before... This time
quicker, not glancing back at all. Conceal
my gasp, allow my heart to crumble upon
entering, what used to be our room.

Don't call me... I will take my role now.
Throw my phone against the wall, let
my rage breathe for me. Picture frames
now ash in the center of the kitchen.

The rage, born of pain, crashes over the reader; inexorable like a tsunami. Your word flow is lyrical and this is so moving that I may have to step outside in the gloaming to breathe toxic, caustic, corrosive, carcinogenic candies of fire and mortification...

I love this. The way one line flows into the next is excellent. The emotion is almost tangible. Last two lines of the third stanza were great, slightly upsetting because I can relate exactly
