How God Made You

How God Made You

A Poem by Alexis Rikke
"

A lovely little love poem.

"
First, God plucked the leaves off of autumn trees and scooped them off the ground,
curling each leaf with gentle fingers to turn your hair a golden brown.

Next, God ventured into caverns stacked with precious jewels and choosing from the pile
he cut diamonds into perfect squares and aligned them in your smile.

Last, God reached with open hands into the soil searching for his sought-after spoil.
With pride, he gifted you two eyes of dirt to mark you as a treasure of the Earth.

AMAZING! I love it! I'm not a fan of love poems that sound similar, so it's a true delight to find this one. You've dug up some imaginative ways to show instead of tell & this is the key to the best writing. I love the vivid & applicable imagery you've crafted here & anyone would be wishing he/she could be the person who this was written for! *smile* Fondly, Margie
