Lettered Balloon

Lettered Balloon

A Poem by Lexi

A million lettered balloons

drifting through the sky,

to say hello to you.

and also say goodbye

For miles they drift

across endless empty lands.

Finally dissolving into

an unexpected hand.

A simple surprise that leaves

a boy full of pain

to read so much sorrow

and then it starts to rain.

Tears slip unnoticed

the letters crumple in his hands,

he holds them close to heart

like a thousand  grains of sand.

Delicately, as if its glass

he hides them far away,

to never read or hurt again

knowing that they'll always stay.

This is so peaceful and so painful all at once. I love the rhythm and flow of this. Nice job!

thank you!
I loved this, know why? Because I put a tune behind it so easily, the poem came to me as a song and I could easily put a rhythm and beat behind it, you should put this on You Tube as a song and see how popular it gets.
