The Rent

The Rent

A Poem by Ria
"

A fun poem

"

Feeling frazzled worn out and spent,
Racing round where is that rent.
I know I put it in the drawer,
Maybe somehow if fell on the floor.

I know, I'm coming, can't you wait?
Good grief you'd think I was ten days late.
I know I saw it just today,
This is crazy what can I say.

I know you think I'm trying to stall,
Here come with me right down the hall.
See that table over there,
This keeps up I'm pulling out my hair.

I placed your money in this drawer,
Don't waste your time I've checked the floor.
I really don’t know what to say,
I know you think I just can't pay.

I really truly have your rent,
Lying now just makes no sense.
Help me look I beg you, please,
Look under there, down on your knees.

I have no clue just where it went,
What is that? Is that the rent?
I really can't believe my eyes,
Behind the drawer, what a surprise.
