Winter's Snow

Winter's Snow

A Poem by Ria
"

Poem about snow

"

Softly they float, each different and unique
Riding along on invisible wings of air
So small, that by themselves they are mere flakes
Racing toward earth to meet with the rest

Alone they melt on your face and hair
Soft and cold they swirl in the wind
Slowly they fall and join together
Making their long descent to the ground

Together they band, bringing cities to their knees
Closing roads and collapsing roofs
Their innocence and uniqueness is lost
What happened to them as they floated to earth

This is really amazing. The diction, style, imagery, everything. I especially like the line: "Together they band, bringing cities to their knee". The last stanza ends this poem very well. Awesome job.

Hi - this is simply beautiful! haha..... I come from a place where snow has to be up to there before we even notice! You are so right in your capture of the snow's movement, personality and gee, what happens when too much of them just band together..... I like the feel of this.... good job!
