Sieving the HeartA Poem by Alex odhiamboThis poem is about love; at personal level and towards family members. The poem tries to dig deep the issues related to love and the achievements of those who persist in genuine course of love.
Pushing harder
Down the simmering river Only the whistle of the valley Will stop my clandestine stake The embargo imposed By the snowed rents Will not avert the moaning monsoons Though the ethnography is at risks Soiled folk! They say But the battle is on To unburden the Napoleon cross And take on pope Urban's decree To claim the holy fondness Primed to neuter the ancestral shrine On a lonely pilgrimage Roaring like desexed lion Left and right No wall to lean on Fear and pity are only friends around But am ready to sieve the heart Clean the soul Receiving the love Thanks to sieving © 2023 Alex odhiamboAuthor's Note
