Lover

Lover

A Poem by Alexandria Marie

No hugs or Kisses

Take my hand in yours.

Armor and protection

In a simple touch;

Like a shelter for all our actions.

There

It may chill you

So cold and alone a first.

My hand waits patiently;

Hoping only to touch your heart.

I am so easily satisfied.

No long embrace or heated tangle.

Take my hand in yours.

Its trembling will remain on your finger tips;

Timid and inviting

Remaining here,

For as long as you remain there.

Receive it.

Brittle twigs snapping

If you like.

Splintering.

The jagged edges may wound you;

Forever seeking your touch.

The funny part of life. The gentle kisses. Long walks holding hands are what we remember in the end. Poem was amazing. You said it all in so few words.
