Blank faces

Blank faces

A Poem by Alexandra

I walk these empty streets,

Passing people with blank faces and no names.

I’m a stranger to them, just as they are insignificant to me.

I used to be a part of this, but now

I’m just an outsider.

How can I have wasted so much precious time?

They say silence is golden, but so is time!

It slipped passed me, almost as though it brushed past me in a corridor.

I know I’ll never catch it up again. It’s started to sprint.

Time is a dot in my vision. No matter how fast I run, I can never catch it up, and I never will.
