The Ship And The SeaA Poem by Alexander CainFirst poem I had to write on the spot.A ship lost in the dead of night looking for the shining tower that shall give it light. For three days and nights it has been on the move, and the waves have been anything but welcoming and smooth. He thinks about his wife and best friend for he is certain his journey has come to an end. He takes another swig and holds his bottle tight as the waves calm and he is flooded with light. Hope is in the mind of the drunken sailor because he thinks god ended his life in the ultimate favor. He looks up and sees his shining pillar, so towards the light he adjusts his pillar. His tiring journey is finally over, and he prays one last time to his true father. © 2015 Alexander Cain |
