Taking Control (Dedicated To My Pain)

Taking Control (Dedicated To My Pain)

A Poem by Alexander Cain

When the night was cold and nobody was around
it was my deepest and most sensitive spots you decided to surround.

You would always dig up what I had buried deep inside,

and on a mission to destroy my soul you used my past as a guide.

The blood will make you leave is what you whispered in my ear,

but when the bloody deed was done you would never disappear.

Over time I got addicted to the blood and loved the sight,
and with each stroke of the blade your pleasure reached a new height.

Over the years you have been my most loyal friend,

but like everything else our friendship must come to an end.

I know you will forever accompany me,
but no longer will I allow you to take control of me.

Sad stuff, but a lot of inner-strength and optimism too. I especially love the ending, taking control over your own struggles and rising above it is a brave and difficult thing, but one that can improve your life so much. Nicely written :)
