I'm TemptedA Poem by Alexander143Sometimes, impressing others costs us the value of our workTo hear my every listener snap; To feel another roar of applause; To watch you cheer, and clap; Not by a fruit, but the above woes. To impress everyone in the crowd. To appeal to the entire audience. To make a name, make you proud. At the cost of my poetry's essence; To express myself from my inside,- But filter words occurring divinely; To alter the feels I daren't hide; To be a 'warrior', fighting carefully. To maintain a great reputation; To praise opinions over my inner; To judge me by your every reaction, To speak my mind so as to be a winner. To forget why I started to write; To fear to compose a bad piece. But no, this time, I'll get it right,- I'll speak my mind, through a hit or miss. To reach for my crude thoughts; To set the bar where I wish to; To look past my errors and faults. To pen for me, and not for you! To make you listen to my soul. To command the audience of your heart; To display the beauty in my every flaw; Cuz speech isn't science, its an art. Keep Smiling © 2013 Alexander143Reviews
