As you leave

As you leave

A Poem by Alexander143
"

Take everything 'us', but just leave 'me' in peace...

"

Take the fun. The tears. The glad memories.
The hopes. The dreams. The sad stories.
The 'us' in who I dared to believe.
But hand over my heart as you leave.

Take the pain. The pride. The untouched future.
The wishes. The smiles. The perfect picture.
Take your time. There's no need to heave.
But just don't take my life as you leave.

Take the joys. The love. The lasting pleasures.
The thoughts. The habits. The glowing treasures.
Take, too, the heals and brand new weave.
But set free my soul as you leave.

Take the nights. The dinners. The every day out.
The arguments. The mind games. The trust and doubt.
Take it all with you, everything your hands did receive.
But my freedom stays with me as you leave.

Take the hugs. The kisses. And the never had sex.
The sorrys. The stupidity. Take the mistakes.
Take for granted that in the beginning, you were my Eve.
But also, take the forbidden fruit, as you leave.

Take the blushes. The praise. The queenly throne.
The walks. The support. The visions unknown.
The craziness. The romance. Please, feel free to reave.
Only, my peace, do not take, as you leave.

Take the luck. The smirks. The pretence.
The fights. The advice. The nonsense.
Take. Take. Take it all! Do not sieve.
But don't take my right to love as you leave.

Take the worries. The laughters. The late night calls.
The poems. The promises. Go on, take those!
But take care of yourself, and do not grieve.
Take heart, cuz I'll be fine even as you leave.

Keep Smiling
