Feel Alive Too

Feel Alive Too

A Poem by Alexander143
"

I'm I crazy? How do you know if you're 'normal?'

"

Get behind me Satan! And push me into sin.
Bury my evils. I'm just hiding them. Crazy, it's the privacy of an Automated Teller Machine.
Watch me transport myself. Yeah, I'm always stepping up!
Mean. Crazy. Evil. Useless. Nah... It's just life and it's kind of messed up!

Smile at you as I fix a loaded gun to the side of your head.
Tell you not to make this harder for me. 'Absurd?' But that's just what I too, would have said.
C**k it. Count down from ten... Let's go... Nine... Eight... Seven...
Switch sides. Your eyes sealed shut. Point the borrow to my head... Zero... Pop it! My body drops to the ground, hope we're even.

I could have let you die, but I'm not that evil.
I'm freaking worse. On some other level.
So, I leave you to watch a scene.
A story you'll not live to relate. The last act is when you'd have been.

It was just you and I in that supposed ransom room.
Raise the curtains... Watch the details of your own doom.
Sniff... Sniff... That's carbon monoxide.
Make no mistakes. It's the ridiculous gas that causes choking, killing you from the inside.

The ventilation system is compromised. Wired to the source of the gas.
You can seal the room. Go on, but you'll soon run out of oxygen and die. Alas!
Wait! There's a knife on the chair to which I'd tied your sorry body.
Stub yourself. Slit your veins maybe. Just die man! But then, remember, it'll be bloody!

Think back... The gun on the floor.
Sorry. I had one bullet in it. Oh! And, there's 5000 volts wired to the key in the door.
Wish to die. Time's running out and so is oxygen.
Look in the eyes of death. Realize how sweet life is. I think you're still breathing.

Pray to repent if it's over. No, you've already resented.
Watch the world spin... Feel your energy depart from your soul... By now, you should have fainted.
Your last words? What? I'm a psychopath?
No. I'm a teacher. Lesson? You don't appreciate life, untill you believe there's death.

In the last moments of a man's life, he shows his true nature.
See, this now is a movie. Thoughts in motion. Everything before and after is static, just a picture.
Crazy as I may be, I'm not a demon.
Okay... Let go... Breathe... Don't fight it... Don't hold on.
Fade into unconsciousness... Feel you loose your head.
That's it... Breathe your last... You're DEAD...

Wake up to a beeping sound.
Headache. Failing sight. You're in a hospital... Look around.
Your mother. Brother. Sister. Girl, or uncle. There's someone watching you.
Ask what happened... You fainted when you fell in the pool.

Close your eyes. Say a prayer. Thank God you're alive.
So, to know that you're living, death you had to survive.
It's funny how breathing air seems so sweet...
Yes. We never know what we have till we loose it.

What I'm I? Evil? A psychopath? Crazy?
No. I'll let you tell me.
Playing soccer. Having dinner. Walking. Every now and then, I pop up in your mind.
My dead face, smiling. Yeah, you're alive. But you had to die that truth to find.

I took you half-way. It is, as it seems.
Wait! I hope you know what that means...
You still don't know EXACTLY what being alive is. You only fainted.
Messed up! But at least, you've got an idea. That idea... Is all I wanted.

Keep Smiling
