The begining of the end.A Chapter by Alexander143Sylvester and Hazel meet.
The noise of speeding vehicles,
Bus conductors' yells and calls, The pedestrians that rushed to and fro; This social recipe was exactly what I did not wish for. Exhausted by sorrow, low and bored, I crossed the four-lane busy, Great East road. This day, I walked without Jane into Arcades shopping mall. It was the first day of it's nature that I could recall. Past a couple of shops, I sat outside an unusually tranquil restaurant. 'This is it,' I relaxed as I sat, 'peace and quite is all I want.' 'I miss you. I love you.' Jane's voice lingered in my ear. No, it was in my head. My girl was nowhere near. Mentally, I had gone back to one of their moments of bliss. One of the inevitable arguments that were ignited by peace. Lost in thought, the world around me was monotonous, everything but a sudden, sharp feminine laughter. Upon hearing the laughter for the second time, I looked back to the origin of the laughter. There, a few tables behind, sat a beautiful couple, having what seemed to be a great time. My face fell when I realized that I was the perfect picture of a lonely mime. 'That could have been us,' I lamented, 'that could have been me and her if...No!' 'She blew it. I tried, but she let me go.' Some two months ago, I met Jane on my usual evening stroll. Some days past, 12 or so, And we started to date. Everyday was bliss, and not once did either of us regret. But only initially. Later Jane ceased to make sense to me- And I to her. Silently, we both wished to be free. From another bitter argument, I came to the mall to seek ease. Turning away from the couple, I saw a beauty that commanded my everything to freeze. A few meters away from where I sat, stood a girl amidst a loose crowd. For some minutes, I stared at her like she was the latest toy and I, a child. She's got to be waiting for someone,'I thought. But, I was sure going to say 'hi' whether she be single or not. I kept staring with no regard for the people around. 'Wow!' was all I could utter, when strength to open my mouth, I finally found. Her long black hair blew freely, Her beautiful purple dress expressed her hour-glass shape vividly. I was taken, I had to see more. 'This might be the 'escapism' I've been looking for. I quickly drunk the juice I'd ordered and started to walk towards her. I could feel her brown eyes fixed on me from afar. I walked until I was with her. She's a beauty, she shone like a star. 'Hey, I'm Alexander,' I slowly extended my hand. 'Mmhhh. A rare name in the motherland.' 'Yeah, my parents think outside the people who think outside the box.' Talk about lol to death, I'm full of sick jokes. 'You didn't give me your name,' I said after a short pause. 'But, I can't give you my name without a cause.' 'I see. So, you're waiting for someone?' 'Someone... Not really,' she was very composed, 'I'm waiting for my man.' I was put off, but far from exposing it. I was accustomed to keeping my inners a secret. 'I see, but, don't you think it would be a good idea to sit down?' I suggested. 'Unless I don't want to be seen, I'll not sit.' She commented. 'Well, it's only, you've been standing for a long while.' 'Really?' she looked at me with a smile. 'I'm sorry but, I've been stalking you, for a few minutes.' I expressed my regrets. 'Now why would you do that?' she held her chin. 'I have no idea. But I so have much love for a beautiful scene.' 'You know what,' she pretended not to be flattered, 'I think you're right. A seat would be of aid.' She walked to a table nearby, hoping her blush would fade. I tailed her as she led me to some deja vu. 'You're sitting where I sit with J?' I thought, 'What's wrong with you?' 'Other than watching me, what were you doing?' She spoke softly. 'Wondering how I would get your number.' I replied instantly. She tried to hide it again, but it was to no avail. 'I wonder the price he comes at,' she thought, 'Man does he speak so well.' 'Let's try, why did you come here, to the mall?' No sooner had she finished her question than she received a call. 'Excuse me,' she whispered, 'I have to take this one.' 'Hello Mark, I've been waiting for you.' It was her man. I was literally deaf to her phone conversation. Until I heard something that claimed my attention. 'What do you mean you can't make it?' she yelled. 'Oh my God,' I thought, 'Now this one, I've nailed.' 'You know what, I can't put up with this anymore!' 'Boy, this Mark sure is...' 'What do you mean what am I looking for?' 'Blind.' I concluded. 'You know what, bye!' and the call was ended. For a minute or so, I sat, staring at her, Lost in the darkness of loneliness, here in front of me, yet so far. 'Here, let me show you something.' I stretche my hand across the table and held hers, gently. I then stood up and tried to help her up. 'Trust me.' She hesitated, then stood. She had on choice, Besides, there was something rather comforting in my voice. I led her to the cinema. Jane and I had planned to see that night's movie, 'Wherever you go' a romantic drama. 'Hurry!' I held her hand as I rushed to buy us tickets. 'She couldn't help but wonder how much more sweeter Alexander gets.' We made it in time for the movie's begining. Arm in arm, we navigated through the darkened narrow path. And as we sat at the front chairs, joy crept in the girl's heart, replacing her every bit of wrath. Half-way through the movie, a romantic scene hit the screen. Her hand sought mine. I felt a cocktail of emotions start to boil deep within. Two hours after the starting time, the movie ended happily ever after. Arm in arm, we walked out of the cinema, full of joy and laughter. I let her hand go, 'Let me get us something to eat.' She just stood there, digesting everything; the joy, the passion, the heat. Then suddenly, she saw something that made her senses swirl. Mark walked out of the same cinema romancing with some girl. Instinctively, she walked to her beloved him. 'So, this is what 'caught you up!' she couldn't help but scream. Mark was in a state of shock, And for a moment, he couldn't talk. 'Hazel, listen,' was as far as he'd gone before I came through. 'Hey,' I literally ignored everyone else, ' I've been looking for you.' 'Look who's playing innocent,' Mark mocked, 'And who is he?' 'He's the one who, unlike you, had time for me!' She said all the wrong things in her disbelief. Soon, Mark walked away with the strange girl, Hazel was back in the aura of grief. Mark was certain that he was not cheating alone. And that was the perfect moment to tell Hazel to move on. Jovial faces walked past by, laughter and cheer filled the air. But in all this Hazel felt alone, like nobody was really there. I took my coat off and gently hang it on her lonely body. I held her tightly, 'Only when you're really alone, should you feel lonely.' I walked her outside. The late evening breeze had so much life. The sight of the street lights, the noisy people, it was all full of life. But the inside of Hazel, was as dead as her hope in Mark. What a flame. Ever lit and put out. I was her last spark. 'Look,' I pointed to the starry sky. 'What do you see?' 'Stars, why?' 'Can you count how many times you've been hurt?' 'More than I can count. More than the stars of the night sky or the particles of the earthly dirt.' 'That's how many blessings you have.' 'Each time's a rewards from God above.' 'I wish that could come to life and out of your optimistic mind.' I took a heavy breath, 'Not untill you cease to be blind.' Slowly, I wrapped my hand around her waist. I could hear her say, 'You sure are the best.' Hazel turned around and stared into my eyes. It's amazing how eyes tell no lies. She was just about to kiss me, when I moved away. 'I can't kiss a stranger. What's your name?' I spoke with delay. 'Hazel Brooklyn.' 'My name's Sylvester, not Alex. Sorry for lying.' 'You lied to me about...' the next thing she knew was passion and bliss. 'Were you saying something?' I asked after the kiss. 'Yeah. I was saying how sweet your kiss is.' she smiled. 'Well, then, I'm glad I didn't start with the wild.' 'Did I tell you that you're as funny as you're charming?' she bit her lower lip. 'No, but I know how naughty you can be.' I tapped her hip. We both laughted as we strolled and had our snacks down the street. For that one moment, everything was blissfully sweet. Love at first sight? Mr. And Mrs. Right? No, just two different people in the same circumstance. That's not fate, just a rare chance. But in this fantasy, We couldn't open our eyes to reality. If a dream this moment be, She'd rather sleep on so as to be with me. And if this wasn't real. I'd rather be stuck in it, than lose the girl. Unknown to us, though was that this wz a present in pandora's box. It's a love alright? But it's a love, unorthodox. Keep Smiling © 2012 Alexander143Featured Review
