No longer

No longer

A Poem by Alexander

No longer.

No longer do the right birds chirp
No longer do the words do hurt
I've seen it all a thousand times
Now I'm nearly out of rhymes

No longer any wild lands
The future is dark and gray
The future is In your hands
Humans greedy selfish ways

Wild wolves roaming free
Wild cats hunting in peace
Al these wild powerful creatures
Now lazy, tied on a leash

No longer can buffalo graze
The wild forests in a blaze
No longer anyone cares
To follow Pan's wild ways

Now the last of the Wilds are in distress
Eaten by invasive pests
I look and see mongoose in trees
No longer can I help birds pleas

Dodos, cougars, passenger pigeons
Animals thatve been reduced to smithers
Help is no longer on its way
The wilds are dieing, I might say

Hello, Alexander! :)
I really enjoyed this poem for its message and I think you could rework it a bit and make this a real treasure. My suggestion is to give it a constant rhythm throughout. You can do this by choosing a pattern for the number of syllables in each line.
For example, your first four lines have a pattern of 8887, giving them a steady rhythm.
"No longer do the right birds chirp --8 syllables
No longer do the words do hurt--8 syllables
I've seen it all a thousand times --8 syllables
Now I'm nearly out of rhymes" --7 syllables

but as your poem continues, the rhythm falls off. It loses its smoothness.
My suggestion is to rework it so that each line is 8 syllables long. I'd be happy to help, if you'd like. :)
