EscapeA Poem by Alexander
Trapped alone in a barren room
Dread to last for days I haven't seen the outside world My vision but a haze The hard caked concrete below me Steel walls on either side Small widows provide light But I cannot see outside I can't recall how I got here A single torch provides a glow Items scattered around the room And a black bird starts to crow One bullet left in the chamber Of a gun I cannot use A box of explosive and fireworks But nothing to light the fuse A file to cut through metal But no bars to escape through A shovel to dig a tunnel But no earth to escape to So many things to escape with Yet not one single way The crow starts cawing louder Here you will spend your days © 2017 Alexander |
