The Storm is Coming part I

Chapter 5

It was 7:10 pm and Ruby was in the lobby of Rose Corp. headed upstairs to her office where she was going to get some documents for Kirby to look over before her date with Creepy. In the elevator she heard her phone ringing so she answered it and on the other end was Mel. Mel was telling her about what happened at the beach house and Ruby began to get a bit frustrated with Mel so she told Mel to just go to her club because she had a date with Creepy and they we're meeting at Cascades for dinner. Ruby reached the top floor, got off the elevator and headed to her office, she hung up with Mel when she reached the doors of her office. Ruby stood there for a couple of seconds going through her purse to find her keys to the door, when she found them she opened the door and turned on the lights to a shock that there was a woman sitting at her desk looking over her files. "Who are you?" Ruby asked "Hi Destiny" "Destiny? What? How do you..." "Oh I know everything.....Destiny" "Stop calling me Destiny" "that is your name right?....Mrs. Destiny Noel Sapphire-Rose but everybody calls you Ruby and you have a sister as well ummm Melanie Hope Sapphire am I right?". Ruby stood in complete shock from the amount of information that the woman knew. "That's not what I asked you..I asked who are you?" "you don't see the resemblance?" "what resemblance? What are you talking about? i'm calling security" "before you do that......I want you to take a look at something" the woman then tossed a manila folder on the glass coffee table for Ruby to pick up, Ruby grabbed the folder and start looking through it. "What does all this mean and what does it have to do with me and my sister?" "Well you know your father Adam? Well Adam was a bit of a skirt chaser i'm guessing your mother wasn't a real thrill keeper in the bed so he went out searching for one who was and he came upon my w***e of a mother Lana , they met and screwed around, 9 months later the world was introduced to Liliana Faith Devro-Sapphire....my mom wanted me to have his last name too so yeah....." "are you telling me your my sister? ha ha ha that is the silliest thing I have ever heard and trust me iv'e heard some stupid things...but the fact that you and whoever this woman Lana is believe that you are my sister that just takes the cake.". Liliana then went to Ruby's mini bar and poured herself a drink "Why don't you look for yourself I mean it's all there?" "you expect me to believe a bunch of papers ha ha for all I know these could be forged" "Well if that's what you believe then so be it but I already had my lawyer contact yours to inform her of my business here in town didn't she tell you?" "and what business is that Ms.Devro? " "oh call me Lil, and well before your well our father died he remembered of his secret love child and I guess he decided that he didn't want to leave this world with his family split apart so he created a separate will and in the will he states that I am entitled to 20% of HIS empire" "20%!!!!! ha ha ha do you really think i'm going to just let you barge into my office at this time of the night, tossing papers here and there, making claims that I still have yet to see if authentic and expect me to just hand you over 20% of what I built ha you got another thing coming".  Ruby then headed for the phone to call security but before she could complete the call Lil walked over, snatched the phone from out of her hands and hung it up. Ruby stood motionless from Lil's actions "now how about this instead of calling security why don't you get your lawyer on the phone and we can settle this once and for all because I am ready to take whats mine and get out of this town" Ruby then got in up close on Lil "you have nothing here....and you are nothing if you want honesty but I will take you up on your offer" Ruby then picked up the phone to call Kirby while Lil sat on the corner of the desk drinking a glass of gin while staring at Ruby in an arrogant manner. Ruby sat and talked to Kirby for minutes and then hung up the phone "So Ruby.....what was said dear?" Lil asked, Ruby stood and walked towards the window, back turned to Lil, she placed her hand on her face and stood in total dismay for it was true, Lil was her and Mel's sister and Kirby was on her way to bring her fathers separate will. "So I take it that it was good news for me and not so much for you" Lil let out a evil grin as she continued to drink, Ruby then charged Lil up and smacked the glass of gin out of her hand  "I want you to get one thing straight and clear........I don't care if you may or not be my sister but you will understand this and that is that i'm Ruby Sapphire B***h!!! and you're on my turf now and i'd be damned if I let some pointless pathetic worm sashay her way into my company!!!! , my office!!!! in my town!!!! and demand my money!!!! then you better put your seatbelt on because honey I guarantee this will be the ride of your life".
