So, now you are crying? The angel asks, looking at the demon. Darn near. You stole my job, angel. The demon replies. I'm sure that's not the reason you are 'darn near' crying. Demons don't cry, they destroy the competition. But I don't want to destroy my angel... Yeah, you do! Eh... Maybe..... No! I love my angel! I love my demon! But, as it may seem, a fallen angel is almost a demon, and poses problems for the demons. I love my angel more! I'm not going to destroy my angel! I pose a threat to your very existence. No! I'm not giving in! My angel may be a threat, but I love him. I couldn't possibly destroy him, not even if the boss told me to. Your angel can't fight the feelings inside him. He loves this demon, but he's been hypnotized to kill her. No, angel. You won't hurt me. I know you won't. It's hard, since the angel loves her, but he moves in with glass daggers glinting in the light. The demon starts to step back, but decides to stand her ground. She trusts the angel, and she loves him. The angel hesitates, and looks her in the eye. He can see that she won't back down. His sight gains a red tint to it. He starts to walk forward once again. The feelings he once had for her are gone. All he can feel is hatred for her kind, and he's hell-bent on killing every last one. As he approaches, she steps sideways, then behind him. She hugs him, and whispers in his ear, Angel, I love you. You're better than this. He tries to fight back, but her words penetrate the wall the hypnotist made. The wall isn't down, though, so he still has a feeling of pure hatred. He tries to lift the daggers, but she shifts her grasp, pinning his arms to his sides. I'm not going to let you do this, angel. She forgets one thing, though, and the angel knows she does. He stomps his right foot, and a knife slides out of his shoe. He swings his foot back and makes contact with the demon. She gasps in pain as his knife cuts deep into her leg, and falls to the ground behind him. As she begins to cry, she calls to him through her tears, I love you, still, and I always will, angel, as he hides the knife back in his shoe. It feels as if a knife went through his head. He doubles over and grabs his head. As it turns out, those words were all that was needed to bring down the first wall completely, but that wall was one of many. The hypnotist knew that the angel loved the demon, so he took many precautions, and made many walls inside the angel's mind. Angel! The demon shouts, surprised and worried, as the angel doubles over. She tries to stand, only to fall when she tries to put her weight on her injured leg. She reaches out, trying to touch him, but can't reach. Angel, are you alright? She asks, tears still streaming down her face. All the while, the angel is down on his knees, holding his head. He stays there for hours as the first wall comes crashing down. The demon pulls herself over to the angel while he's sitting like this, despite the pain from her leg. She sits up, wincing, and wraps her arms around him, leaning on him to keep her weight off her injured leg. What the demon doesn't realize is that the angel had no idea that it was the love of his life he was trying to kill, until a picture overrode all else while the wall crumbled. Deep down, he knew who the girl in the picture was, but he didn't know that it was the demon. He tries but feels the demon leaning on him. His first thought was, It's trying to pin me down! He reaches slowly for his daggers, but stops. He's not sure why, but he stops, mid-reach. Little does the angel know, in about thirty seconds, all the walls will begin to crumble because of the love resonating from the demon. The demon, startled by the angel's sudden movement, lets him go and whimpers, Angel? With a tear-stained face, she looks at him, wondering why he attacked her in the first place. After two full days of pain like he's been stabbed in the back of the head, the angel's walls are completely down. He starts shaking as he looks at his hands, then at his shoes. He sees blood. There's blood on him, and a trail of blood to a body that's just laying there. He walks over and realizes it's the demon he loves. She's looking at him with a look of nervousness. He doesn't know why until he looks at her leg, then down at his shoe once again. He falls to his knees and cries, not caring who might see. He's hurt the one he loves, and there's no way to make up for it. With a shaky hand, he grabs his glass daggers and looks at them. They shine brilliantly in the light. The demon reaches out and touches the angel's hand. Angel, I'm... I'm okay, she says weakly. She doesn't have the strength to sit up, or she would. The angel looks at her when she touches him. He looks her in the eye. He drops the daggers and hugs her with all his might. He says, I'M SO SORRY! I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS YOU! The angel doesn't ever want to let go, but he does. He picks up the daggers once again and puts them in their holders. The angel will never admit it, but he really likes those daggers. He goes back to the demon and picks her up. He knows she can't sit up, so he picks her up, and walks off into the distance. An hour or so passes, and the angel stops. He's remembered that he can heal her leg. He sets her down and puts his hands on the cut. His hands start to glow, and the cut starts to shrink. He stops and sees that the cut is gone. He picks her back up and says, You won't be able to walk on that for another day. It was a deep cut, but I was able to close it. It'll heal faster now, but it'll still be awhile. The angel walks on. Soon after, he starts to run. He jumps up, spreads his marvelous wings, and flies upwards. He looks down at the demon in his arms and smiles. The demon smiles back at the angel. Her leg still hurts, but it feels much better than it did, and she can feel some of her strength returning. She cuddles against him, feeling safe in his strong arms. Thank you, angel, she says softly. The angel and the demon fly away to be heard from another day.
