You know...

You know...

A Poem by Alex Vandool

You know the truth is sometimes in between

Your sighs, those eyes

You didn't hear my heart - deep sad so much as every word you spoke, and wrote - and every weary moment, eternally you touched

I read, and felt each drop - tormented by my rhyming thoughts from age and ages turned away - A lot too cold and hot to try to have its say

Not so different were we

Only tired and wired, afraid at other points, in other hallowed rooms - Same street, same hills - Same bitter pills of hurt, mad fate, poor innocence - Old hope

The tragic is unspoken love and tenderness everywhere you look...Among us two...ahead of you - and now behind. The comic is the who, when, why, that builds and breaks the splintered lie

Now you hold another hand and can't let go - A miracle you craft and spell - Produce a realer heaven over hell

Somehow I saw it then, when all I ever wanted was to hold you close, embrace you every minute that you'd wish - just ask, just say - I could only wait for your nod, your look - Would never refuse you

Anyway, time's for teaching, learning, knowing, patient, slow

What seems like destiny, impossible and dreamlike - above the rest - It's all I ever tried to show you - One thing I'd seen in our soft harmony, before - The everlasting cure

Some souls entwine by Proserpine, swish branches feel their way - The best ones certain of the mood there, that our great night will meet its day
