The little fox

The little fox

A Poem by Alex Vandool

My heart still loves

Lit up - outside,

And holding on for you

No light shines back

No bell chime echo sounds

I wait,

Preparing impatiently;

excited, confused

But you're not there,

Your heart gone quiet

Elsewhere

My mind still knows the rules of power

Need bows low

It cannot choose

To wrap you in a bright embrace

How much I long,

to feel you near,

to hear your voice

and see your face
