To have what we desire has an equal balance of just the opposite

5 D's of Life

Love is to despair

Hope is to disappoint

Kindness is to demean

Feeling is to destitute

Humanity is desolate

We balance with caution

We struggle with our strengths

Our weaknesses

Our desires

We fall with loss

We rise with passion

To be without life

Renders all in a void

We cannot escape

I don't know what this is, either.....but it has good flow. It sounds like it could use a bit more before a finish, but it has remarkable musicality, and it's a fun read. Well done!

The last two lines kind of repeat the message of "humanity is desolate", which has so much power on its own, it kind of mars it to repeat it....I would say simply tweak that last line, so at least "humanity" isn't repeated. Play with it a little. You don't even have to say "to be without". Experiment. You'll strike gold in time
