Windy BayA Poem by Alex Van Eker|PoetryA journey to the end and back home again on a lazy Sunday with that special someoneWindy Bay by Alex Van Eker | Poetry Standing at the edge of a cliff, She asked if I wanted a hit, I said “No, ta” maybe in a bit, Could see the last boat coming in, Felt the grass brush up against my leg, As soft as the duvet on my bed, The sound of the ocean to the west, Like mother kissing me on my forehead. Feel the breeze of the windy bay, Dissolving all your troubles away, Grab your tea and come here, please, Let's go home and curl up on the settee. The path winded down through some woods, Branches overhanging as they shook, She grabbed my hand like it was a hook, Then we fell into a little nook, The laughter that it birthed was quite a sight! A story to be told on a winter's night, The Sun was almost out of light, Home is where the heart shines most bright. Feel the breeze of the windy bay, Dissolving all your troubles away, Grab your tea and come here, please, Let's go home and curl up on the settee. © 2020 Alex Van Eker|Poetry |
