I'll be back

Fun poem I did for school where we needed to write in the perspective of a non sentient thing. Try to guess!

Now I am gone.

Stifled and tainted

by those who try to be me.

But your illusory guises will never amount

to the glory

I once reigned.

When I ruled over mankind,

every birthmark on my skin

was a mark of birth,

every blemish

a depiction of what to occur.

You are transient.

As time passes, so shall you.

Now I am gone, but then I am here.
