"I Swear This Time I Mean It".

A Poem by Alex
"

Uhm, this is a poem based on a memory I have of me and my boyfriend. This isn't how I'd normally write, but I guess just a few opinions would be greatly appreciated:]

"

My heart begins to race as I hear the music start to play,

My arms around your neck, your arms around my waist, I blush as you pull me closer and we begin moving slowly, dancing to the music's tune,

There's nowhere else I'd rather be tonight than to be here, with you,

And as we continue to move, I hold back the tears that begin to dwell in my eyes, hoping we'll never have to say goodbye,

And as if you knew exactly what I was thinking, you pull me even tighter and tell me you love me, and you never want to lose me,

A smile finds its way across my face and as your lips gently press against mine, all I can think is, am I dreaming?

With a past of nothing but crying, pain and unbearable heartache, I truly believe meeting you was fate,

As the music begins to come to an end, you gently pull away, look me in the eyes and promise me you'll never leave me,

I love you with all of my heart, and forever we'll always be, never growing apart.

Nights like this are magical and are remembered 'til death. You expressed this well.

Heartwarming from the start. I liked the format you did use. It let the emotions carry longer for each line. What really was cool about this piece, was how if you hadn't mentioned it was about a boyfriend. It could symbolize the connection someone might have with a piece of music.

Great Ink!
