Ripples in My Reflection

Ripples in My Reflection

A Poem by Alex Epps
"

Trying to not be so stoic all the time.

"
As I stare at my reflection
In the softly flowing waters
The ripples distort my mirrored image
A metaphor, I realise, for these feelings
The ones I lock away deep inside
Unable to see myself clearly through the cloud
The constant fog that is my mind
How do I uncage this burning desire that is my heart
Forever unknowing the answer to this question
That begs mercilessly for my attention

I LOVE this. This metaphors and the imagery used to portray emotion are very well done. The rhythm of the poem works well with its meaning too.
