Fear of the Ticking Clock

Fear of the Ticking Clock

A Poem by Carol

Hidden,

Fear comes to find me.

Trying to trap me in its cold embrace.

Tick tock, tick tock

The minutes counting me down.

So much to do and no time.

Time,

A small variable in the meaning of life.

Yet, it’s the small things that matter the most.

Tick tock, tick tock

Time betrays me tonight.

Counting down the few remaining seconds of my life.

The ticks of the hands,

My hands!

Clawing at me!

 TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

Help me! Hear me!

My silent screams echo in the empty halls,

Begging to be free.

To be gone of the horrid monster,

To be rid of the icy fist that surrounds my heart.

Tick tock, tick tock

Hidden,

Fear finds me.
