The Internet

The Internet

A Poem by Alex Thomas
"

The Internet: Making hurtful things easier to say since 1983.

"
I've done it. You've done it too.
The internet is a place for me to slap you.
The internet is a place with no limits.
Once you're in it, you're in it.

Nothing is private. No one is safe.
I wish that I could leave this place.
Too bad this hell is part of our lives.
On human misery, the internet thrives.

My brother views girls, my sister, TV.
My mom watches soaps from 2003,
And I hurt feelings without thinking.
My virtual ship seems to be sinking.

So drool in front of the screen,
Take in its luster and all its sheen,
Be sure to think before you hit "send".
Those words could very well signal The End.
