What You DeserveA Poem by Alex ThomasCuring a bit of writer's block. Relieving a little pent-up anger. You seldom ask me how I feel with meaning.
Questioning my mood, when you know, is demeaning. Resentment trickles in my veins. You've ignored all of my struggles and my strains. I was there for you to keep your spirits high, But you left me here to wither and die. When your life falls into shambles, I'll laugh at your tears and depressed rambles. I thought this feeling would eventually pass, But I'm going to laugh when you're dumped on your a*s. Even if it seems incredibly blunt and cold, It's what you deserve and need to be told. When you are crying in nobody's arms, Remember that I could have eased that harm, If only you had stayed to soothe mine. Instead you lived ignorantly and thought I was fine. I know you've been happy as of late, You've shown it enough, rubbing it in my face, But when you're alone, remember me, The person you were willing to flee, Maybe then you'll realize how wrong you were, You'll come crawling back, I know this for sure. I won't be there because that time around, You'll be solitary and I'll leave to drown. © 2010 Alex ThomasAuthor's Note
