From Daydream to Nightmare

From Daydream to Nightmare

A Poem by Alex Miller<3
"

It's hard to explain how much I miss you, yet I hate you...

"
Daydream, take me away.
I want to go to that wonderful place,

Far away no troubles near,
Just the happiness and no fear,
For the joyful music I wish to hear,
Slowly drifting away as I go there.

No heartbreak here, just the happiness
No bad memories, nor sadness.
If only that was the case.

The nightmare starts
The memories remain
My heart can't take much more pain

I love you, or do I?
My mind is not for certain.
My tears crash to the ground.
As for you, you're not around.

You love me?
Or so you tell,
How can I believe when I live in hell,
Forgetting the happiness,
Is this what you want?

I wake up it's 4 a.m,
I can't go back to sleep for I know the dangers of my dreams,
I stay awake for days,
My body can no longer take it,

I drift off to sleep and hope for the best,
I sleep for a few minutes everything is fine,
Back to a place where once you were mine....

A powerful poem of emotion and thoughts. The night can create highways to memories that make us wish for better endings. I like the way you told the story in the poem.
"You love me?
Or so you tell,
How can I believe when I live in hell,
Forgetting the happiness,
Is this what you want? "
No weakness in this excellent poem.
