Guilty Conscious

Guilty Conscious

A Poem by Lavi
"

Really vague description of guilt

"
What was lost cannot be returned
As I look into the mirror I wonder what others see
If it's the despair I have learned
Or the lies I could be

From a young age I was shown what I could never be
Told of the person who would forever bleed
And as I fought to be free
I started to feel the weight of this need

It is easy to be lost in carelessness
Watching as my actions shape the lives around me
Oblivious to the consequences of such fearlessness
Too late I realized the power to destroy thee

Destruction
The beauty of falling apart
And the horror of deduction
As I realized the matters of the heart

For what place do I have to judge the value of life
When too long I have felt the end of a knife?

Your words dear Lavi. Like a line from a Hemingway book. Honest and true.

The above lines can be painful and not. If we didn't attempt love. We would be a empty ship with no place to go. A fearless life teaches us. Make the good days last and forget the bad days. Thank you my friend for sharing the outstanding poetry. You made the reader think. The goal of the writer.

Here, I go by Lavi because even if I weren't a relatively private person, I am not fond of my given name in the first place, and as someone once said, "you don't live up to the name. The name lives up.. more..
