I've dug up many an old philosopher from Seneca to Aristotle it's true...but hopefully I've added a bit more than perfume to the dried bones of parchment past. The wonderful thing about ideals and ideas is that they can be ressurected in greater perfection than they were buried. Leonardo Da Vinci would agree to see the flying machines we have today or Einstein to see his his E=MC2 being challenged as it is. It is the artists who bear the imagination to question and the courage to challenge and the inventiveness to improve...truth can bend with the mind's ability to accept it...but a mind or a heart is like a book or a parachute...they only work so long as they remain open. I enjoy reading your work so much dear friend, you never fail to invoke thought and compel consideration.
Now I look at it and think. Who is mourning? Maybe we are able to pull off the ruse because no one noticed they were gone, or no one noticed they were there to begin with? We composted our gardens with philosophers s**t and fed their produce to the hungry.
I like it a lot when a poet is willing to experiment whilst still maintaining a voice and meaning. What caught my eye about this one despite the fascinating html rolling text, was that it seemed to pace it for me perfectly. I am unsure whether that was your intention for using the rolling text but for me it really heightened the effect of your words with its fittingly slow pace for the subject of things rotting and dying.
