The Evening Primrose heralds Thy coming.
The Moonflower bloometh in Thy presence.
Silent is the world that rest
As Thou glide in Thy chariot,
A faint Rainbow about Thee.
Celestial Being, Heavenly Body
Mistress of the night, Empress of the stars.
Blessing the sleeping in Thy wake
Silver streaks of silent beams - Thy kisses.
The lovers' Vow never fulfilled.
What lies in Thy dark side?
Sad emotions never will I see.
What lies within Thy bosom.
Beneath the soft glow of Thy gentle face.
How I wish to know Thee better?
To glance through Thee and touch Thee.
For though Thou changes every night
O and D and C
They are yet shades - a single color.
The secrets that Thou keep.
The feelings that Thou hide.
Unexplored treasure that Thou art,
My confidant, friend and Queen.
Sometimes I see Thee Weep
Behind the Clouds that veil Thee
And though my heart strains to listen.
Never once did Thou complain,
Just fade into the morning dawn.
The morning hath come, now I yearn for Thee.
The wait unbearable, the longing intense.
Silently I pray, a prayer for Thee.
Now that Thou art gone,
A Prayer for Thee to return.
