It's All About You Jesus!

It's All About You Jesus!

A Story by "Aleeza"

As I was in my quiet time with the Lord, this older worship song came on that I remembered singing years ago. It's called: The Heart of Worship and the lyrics say:

It's all about you, Jesus
I'm sorry, lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about you,
It's all about you, Jesus

But is it really all about Him? Are we even humanly capable of creating every thought and every action all about the Lord? Well according to scripture we are called to do just that. 2 Cor 10:5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. How many times have we found that extremely difficult, especially in the moments of frustration or heartache.

For me, it's usually after I have an emotional breakdown or bouts of frustration that I'm reminded that I have the ability in Christ to take every thought captive, but by then the damage is done. Or, how about we're standing in church and we're singing It's all about you, Jesus and at that very moment our minds are wondering why someone would dress that way, or the band wasn't *anointed * enough, or the pastor wasn't entertaining enough?? We have All had those moments.

So, my question remains; Is Jesus enough? If God could send His Son to come down and become a human sacrifice for us, then why can't He be enough? How do we make it All About Jesus? My answer would be by feeding continuously on His Word, by being fervent in prayer, by allowing everything we say and do to become an act of worship to Him.

Just so you know that it's not humanly possible to achieve this if we're not holding ourselves accountable to His word. If we're not studying to show ourselves approved. Because even in the most disciplined Christian will come trials and bouts of frustration, or reasons for heartache, but the deeper we are in His word, the better responses we develop that brings honor to the Lord.

If Jesus is enough then stay in His word, learn His will for your life and not your own. Worship Him in action and in spirit, bless the very person that has sinned against you, seek forgiveness with those you have sinned against, even if it hurts your pride.

Admit that you're not always right, nor do you have all the answers in life. Allow your attributes to look like your Father's in Heaven. Make it a habit to bless people in secret so that you're not getting the Glory for it. If you are saved and Jesus reigns supreme in you, then so does the Holy Spirit and everything you do is in the spirit.

So, allow today to be the day that we begin to genuinely make it all about Jesus and be so very thankful that He chose you!

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
