![]() Day DreamerA Story by "Aleeza"![]() Making dreams come true.![]() Are you a daydreamer or a go-getter? I have always been a
day dreamer. There have been many times in life where I have become a go-getter, but I think that’s only because I can see the possibilities beforehand.
I have very rarely shot for the impossible. I know that scripture says that
with God all things are possible (Matt
18:26) but I’ve always thought that to be for everyone else. I know this
will sound depressing, but there’s a light at the end of it all. I grew up with
not much of anything. No money, no education, no creativity and absolutely no
desire to dream. In my experience, all that stuff happened to everyone else
because God had His favorites and I never assumed I was one of them. I mean really,
every time I looked forward, or got excited about something, the world would
cave in around me and all my plans and ideas and dreams were stopped, or
shattered. Never stopping to think that maybe I didn’t prepare in advance, or
maybe I didn’t incorporate God’s plan into mine, or maybe God was saving me
from something I didn’t see coming. Throughout the most recent years, as I have become more
relational with the Lord, I have learned how to put His promises to use in my
life. All those negative thoughts and ideas began to fall at the waist side and
I began to hear His voice and read His spoken words. When I find myself sliding
backwards in thought, then I read the word of God and remind myself of my
future. You see there’s not a topic or a situation that we face that God hasn’t
already provided answers for. When I’m feeling defeated His word say’s: but as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work
will be rewarded. 2 Chronicles 15:7. When I’m feeling afraid to set goals, His word says: May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your
plans succeed. Psalm 20:4 I myself am quite
the dreamer. I dream much bigger than I’ve ever thought possible. There are
area’s in my life that I’m dreaming about right now and recently I have gotten
a little discouraged thinking those things aren’t meant for me, but as I was
daydreaming about certain things I read in Isaiah 43:16 I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a
dry path through the sea. That scripture reminded me of a song I heard
and sang often by Kathy Troccoli that says: He will make a way
where there is no way, We serve a God that
makes all things possible. Even our dreams and hearts desires are important to
Him because He loves us and His desires are to fulfill the desires of our
hearts. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the
desires of your heart. Our God takes delight in His children. Here’s
where I think we fall short on many of our dreams. We often daydream about the
things we desire in life, but we rarely chase those dreams for whatever our
reasoning is. Not long ago a friend of mine said to me: I want you to dream
bigger than what you alone are capable of. So, today I challenge you as I’m
challenging myself to dream bigger than what you alone are capable of and then chase
that dream. Take the 1st step into making that dream come true (with
no excuses). Always incorporate God’s word into your dreams. Honor Him in all
you do and I believe your dreams will come true. Honor Him in every step you
take. Know that you know His plans are for you, for you to prosper. I love to
dream and I will continue to be a daydreamer. I believe in dreams coming true…
