The Front Lines

The Front Lines

A Story by "Aleeza"

Have you seen the image of a soldier standing on the front lines preparing for battle? In military terminology, it is the position(s) closest to the area of conflict of an armed force's personnel. It is their duty and responsibility to carry guns and to use their armor. We are all soldiers at some point. Here we are soldiers in God’s army and we all have the same responsibility, except our armor is God’s word and our weapon is Prayer. Well, God has called each of us to the front line of battle. Our battle may look more spiritual than it does physical. Recently the Lord has been pressing on my heart the importance of prayer. The importance of standing on the front lines to pray healing into the lives of others. Although I have always known it was important, the Lord has placed in me a sense of urgency. A few months ago the Lord had placed on my heart to start a prayer gathering in our church. I remember hearing very clearly: Come and lay your request at my feet. So I mentioned it to a friend because I knew it sounded familiar and she reminded me of a scripture in Phil 4:6 it says: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. and so we talked to our Pastor and began a Monday night time of prayer for the ladies and it’s beautiful.

The amount of testimonies that has come out of it already has been so humbling, yet beautiful to see. Recently on a Sunday morning during worship I was praying for our Monday night prayer meeting and I felt the Lord telling me to make these meetings personal. So not quite sure what He was referring too I asked God to show me, to give me a vision of what He meant by that. I instantly began seeing images of these prayer request. They are small white cards sprawled across the Altar (The feet of Jesus). Each one with a specific need. As I saw these cards the Lord would remind me of what was on one of those cards and I began to see visions of the need instead of the small white card. I began to see visions of actual hearts bleeding and broken. Instead of seeing a white card about drug addiction, I began seeing the drugs and the needles laying there. I saw husbands and wives fighting and crying, I saw people who were in need of vehicles walking in the freezing cold, I saw wars in foreign countries and children standing there filthy and crying. As these images began to scroll through my mind all I could do was cry. Again I heard the Lord say; That is what I mean by personal. In order for you to pray for these needs, you need to see what I see. You need to have a personal stake in this. This has to become real to you. When you see My people hurting the way I see them hurting then and only then will you see why I have called you to prayer. Then and only then you will see why I have called you to the Front Lines.

We as God’s chosen ones (Those who believe in Him and call have called upon His Name) have all been called to the front lines. Your front line may look very different than mine, but no matter what it looks like, Take it personal. For me those front lines are in Prayer. Those front lines look like war faring for the lives of others no matter what the situation. There should never come a day that we stop war faring for God’s people. There’s always pain, always hurt, always people hungry for God’s word. Your name does not have to be Joyce Meyers or Billy Graham to make a difference. You may not shout from a national podium or travel the world laying hands on people. You may never be known by the world, but you are known by the Father. The God who see’s and carries us through all we do. The Lord has placed specific gifts in each one of us, not to be compared to one another. I have heard it said that our biggest and most anointed gift is usually the area that we fear most, because it’s the area in which the enemy doesn’t want us to thrive. I have come to believe that whole heartily, because praying for or over others has always been my fear. So why would God ask me (Someone afraid to pray) to begin a prayer meeting? He knew my potential and He still does. Even if at times I walk through them with a small amount of fear, I’m still walking through it. I’m still being obedient to His calling for me. So Please, whatever your Front Lines look like, put on the full armor of God and go fearlessly to the Throne room and first Pray. He hears your prayers. Proverbs 15:29 The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the Prayers of the Righteous.
