Winds of the SpiritA Story by "Aleeza"John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you
hear the sound of it, but you do not know from where it comes and where it
goes. Thus is everyone having been born of the Spirit. In scripture the Holy Spirit is referred to as the wind. You
can feel the presence of the wind and see the remnants of its presence but you
cannot physically see the wind. You can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit
and see the remnants of its presence but you cannot physically see the Holy
Spirit. the Hebrew word behind spirit is ruach, and it means air in motion.
It is the same word for breath. It also means life. By resemblance to
breath and air in motion, it means “spirit." As the wind blows through the trees, you see the branches
blowing the ways in which the wind is blowing, you feel the presence of the
mighty winds, the power of its presence is breath taking. To know you can feel
it, you can see its affects but it’s invisible to the naked eye. As in the
wind, the Power of the Holy Spirit is breath taking. Although the Holy Spirit is referred to as the wind, and
like the wind you cannot physically see Him. I believe the Holy Spirit is very visible to
all who wish to see Him, because He resides in you. You can see Him through the
acts of love in which you display, the willingness to guide others, to
intercede and comfort others. The Holy
Spirit, the breath of God. It’s as close to you as your very breath. The Bible
says; In Him we live and move and have our being. I remember the words of a worship song years
ago that says: You are the air I breathe, Your holy Presence in me. We can literally breathe in the Presence of
God and be filled with the Holy Spirit with our breath. As we move forward in Christ, we begin to see a shifting, a
change within ourselves as the Holy Spirit is granted to move freely within us.
I pray that the Holy Spirit operating in us becomes as visible as the wind
blowing through the trees. You may not physically see Him in us but you will
definitely see the changes and the direction in which He is moving. © 2016 "Aleeza" |
