The Measure of His Lens

The Measure of His Lens

Permit yourself to see you as Christ sees you ♥

Through the eyes of the One who see’s is the telescope I want to look through. As people I believe we see through a very narrow lens but how nice would it be if our lens was much wider. In other words, I see the narrow lens as something we see in the flesh, but if we were able always see through the Holy Spirit then our vision would be wider, bigger and so much brighter.  You see, we all know Christ was made perfect and just, but when I think of how He saw people, I believe through His perfection it was impossible to see with His flesh. I believe He saw beauty and forgiveness in everyone because He operated through the Holy Spirit at all times and was able to see what most of us never see. John 3:34 For since Jesus is Whom God has sent speaks the words of God, God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!

Imagine if you were to walk outside and see a man with long hair and his body riddled with tattoo's, would you be able to freely love him and bring service to him without assuming he spent his days at the bar down the street? What if he did spend his days at the bar and you had knowledge of it, would you without fear be able to pray with him or offer him a hand with out judging him? Would you see his sin and not his struggle? I remember meeting a young lady one day who was wearing next too nothing with piercings and many marks on her body and the 1st thing I thought of in my flesh was to keep her far away from my kids. Now, although I wasn't in a place where my kids would have even met her, I still desired to keep her far from them. I chose at that point to judge the outer cover without sifting through the pages.

I then asked the Lord to forgive my ugliness and asked the Holy Spirit to allow me to see what He saw. At that moment I saw a beautiful glow over this little girl and through talking to her discovered her hurts and pains and was able to love on her because she was Gods child just like you and I. She did not receive Christ at that moment, but I promise a beautiful seed was sown that day.  I know that personally I would love too be able to see through His eyes instead of my own. To be able to operate in love and forgiveness, to see the struggles and the pain and not the clothes or the stamps on their body. I know it's very easy for me to love and be excepting most times because I see the things I used to do myself. The ways I would act and dress. The way I would talk to others and instantly hate people due to my own struggles with love and trust. I assumed all Christians were judgmental and snotty. As I began to grow spiritually, the Lord had began to soften my heart towards the things of Him. Not saying all Christians are without sin because non of us our, but when you meet the ones who truly operate under the Holy Spirit then you get to see true love and acceptance the way Christ is. Now, true love and acceptance also comes with truth. Sometimes when people who love us or desire to love us speak truth to us, we immediately pull back, get angry and call them judgmental Christians.

You see, Christ loves us all but He also speaks in truth. The word of God says in Ephesians 4: 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. The desire God has for us to operate through the Holy Spirit goes far beyond what we can imagine. I know 1st hand how painful the truth can be, but in order for us to be more like Christ we must allow our flesh to die (dying to self). As long as we are operating in the flesh we cannot operate in the Holy Spirit and if we're not operating in the Holy Spirit we cannot consume all of what the Lord has for us. When we stubbornly allow our flesh to stay in control we not only block what Christ has for us but we block what Christ wants to do through us. So imagine if you were to meet a young girl like I did and the Lord wanted you to introduce her to salvation. Well, we can't do that operating in the flesh because your desire to bring her too Christ will be blocked and she will then have lost out on knowing our savior at that point because you were not operating through the Holy Spirit. Christ's ultimate desire is for His Children to see what He sees and love how He loves. So, I pray for us all to be able too see through a much wider lens so we can love with a much greater love and see as wide as the skies. So now is the time for us to ask Christ how wide is our lens? What is the measure in which we see?
