My Sorrow

My Sorrow

A Poem by AleeleeElaine

He is at the hospital,
Where my grandma's crying.
We sit by his side and weep.
While his sickness grows stronger,
And he becomes weaker, my mom holds his hand.

"Grandpa don't die, get better kay."
Me and my sister get up,
We take out some sheets and sing.
We sing a simple song, a small song.
I look at grandpa and even though he's sleeping,
There is a smile on his face.

After that day we went home.
I fell in my bed like a log,
It was 11:00 and everyone was sad.
The following day I awoke in tears,
For I found out on the first day of December,
That he had passed away.

Everything that happened I look back on.
All the sadness and sorrow.
I remember it as something good and that's why,
On December first every Christmas we put up our tree for grandpa.
The reason why is because our grandpa is a star that lights our way.
