The World We Sent

The World We Sent

A Poem by Alecia Noelle

There is a wave of discontent,
Throughout the land!
A feeling of malcontent,
At hand!
Our flag here stands,
But our country,
Forever running in the sand!
A change we demand,
But nothing goes as planned!
For now there is this gent,
A man of questionable intent!
And we must stop his ascent,
A future of torment,
That we must circumvent!
For him as president,
I do not consent!
Yet to a certain segment,
A small percent,
They do not see the dent!
That will echo throughout the land,
The dissent upon each resident!
That will smolder,
And ferment,
If Donald is elected president!
They do not see,
The truth of what his words have meant!
The indent upon the world,
That will be caused by his dement!
That he will cost us rent!
Every penny and every cent!
For the future he will prevent!

Everyday my distaste for him,
Does augment!
Me he does not represent!
I want that known,
I want that clear,
Written in cement!
Yes!
Yes!
And so now I must vent,
Because I will not be content,
When Donald Trump is elected president!

I can see the world is falling in descent,
With so much discontent!
Oh the truths,
How they do get bent!
A rancid scent!
So much anger pent!
And all the money spent!
Make no mistake:
Look at the world we take!
This is something we must prevent!
We must lament!
We must repent!
That we weren't able to,
That we didn't stop the coup!
And so our guilt it will accrue,
This is true!
It is easy to construe!
Because our votes,
Our children will resent!
The earth we sent!
With their world a mess!
So many problems to address!
Oh yes!
Oh yes!
There will be quite the dissent!
In the event,
That Mr. Trump is elected president!
