Oscar Night

Oscar Night

A Poem by Alecia Noelle

It's Oscar Night!
The night that everyone awaits!
Bright lights!
The night of fate!
So much debate!
All year,
All the anticipation!
Throughout the nation!
Who will win, who won't?
And who deserves to?
These are pressing questions that need an answer!
And who will be snubbed this year?
By that stuffy Academy?
Treated like a diseased cancer?
How will your favorites do?
How will your predictions fair?
Who will show with some strange new hair?
And what, oh what, will everyone wear!
These are questions that must be answered!

It's Oscar Night!
The night that everyone awaits!
But the lights are too bright!
And theres so much debate!
It's lily white!
All year,
All the anticipation!
Throughout the nation!
But what the heck do some of these categories mean?
And who are all these nominees I've never heard of?
Why are there still no minorities here?
These are things we should ask
The Academy!
Will all of the winners be deserving?
Will anyone cry?
Will someone fall on the stairs again?
Will the host be good or bad?
Who will get attention by letting their goodies show?
And just how many times will we see somebody sob and thank the Academy?
These are pressing questions that need an answer!
